DO YOU PROVIDE PHOTOGRAPHY AT MY OFFICE / LOCATION?

Our studio is conveniently located just 3 minutes from the CBD, in a modern, private environment which has been customised for smaller numbers. For groups of 6 or more we are able to travel to your office/location with a state-of-the-art mobile studio.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS?

Yes! Great discounts apply for groups of 2 or more people.

DO YOU PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL HAIR & MAKEUP SERVICES?

Yes we have "The Powder Room" One of Brisbane's best professional hair & makeup services and a great way to ensure you look your very best in front of the camera. our We are situated in the heart of New Farm's cafe district this is also a great way to combine your shoot and look fabulous for lunch or dinner afterwards! I'M DOING MY OWN HAIR & MAKE-UP, DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS?

We reccomend the services of a professional makeup artist to create a really great headshot.
If you are confident in your own makeup application below are some tips to get the best result.

  • Your makeup is best kept simple and fresh, apply as you would for a light evening application.
  • Use a lipstick or gloss which is quite close to your natural lip colour
  • A matte look is preferable so try to avoid using a mineral based foundation as these can be too reflective using flash photography.
  • Be sure to finish with a translucent or pressed powder over your liquid foundation to avoid shine.
  • You may like to bring touch-up makeup as well (compact powder and lip gloss)
  • If your hair is going to be out, please ensure that it is smooth and neat for the day - consider how  your hair will look from all angles.
DO YOU HAVE OFF-STREET PARKING AVAILABLE?
Yes, off-street parking is available for your convenience.  We can also supply you with a location map to assist you in finding us, please contact the studio for more details.
DO YOU PROVIDE AFTER HOURS APPOINTMENTS?
Being a busy commercial studio we try to maintain the same hours as our clients (9am to 5pm. Mon-Fri). In special circumstances we are able to shoot after hours. For example if you are booking a Promo pack and after your final image as a late afternoon shot outdoors (during summer months). Please contact the studio to discuss details.
DO YOU HAVE TAXI RANKS OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT AVAILABLE?
Yes, we are within 50 metres of city bus stops and a taxi rank.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
Yes, a $100 deposit is required upon booking. An additional $100 deposit is required for hair & makeup bookings.
CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS
CANCELLATION / RESCHEDULING TERMS
  • Upon booking your photography session a deposit is required to secure your booking by credit card.
  • being a busy commercial studio, If your appointment is cancelled up to 3 working days from your booking a $30 administration fee will be charged. If your appointment is cancelled within 3 working days of your booking a $100 cancellation fee will apply.
  • If you would like to reschedule your appointment there will be no charge applicable when up to 3 working days notice is given. If less than 3 working days notice is given or if any subsequent appointment changes are made a $50 administration fee will apply.
  • If a session is rescheduled on the same day of your appointment we reserve the right to charge a fee of $100 per person to cover some of our costs. This fee is implemented to offset *multiple same day appointment changes from a single client without adequate reason. (*more than 1)
  • If you do not show to your appointment without giving any prior notice your full sitting fee will be charged to your card (dependant on your package price).
  • If you have booked the services of The Powder Room for your hair and/or makeup a minimum of 3 working days notice to any changes on your appointment is required to avoid a $100 fee per stylist charged to your credit card.

About your session

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? (Corporate)
We recommend avoiding strong patterns or logos as these tend to distract the eye and date over time. A shirt with a jacket is best for a full corporate look, or without a jacket for a more casual look for for women. For men a suit jacket is the preferred option. Black or blue suits work well with white, grey or timber settings. Grey or blue suits and lighter colours work best with our environmental styles (see Galleries). Women’s tops may be without a collar however sleeves are recommended in most cases. Dresses without sleeves can work well but consider the focus of the shot is on the upper portion of your body unless you require a 3/4 of full body shots.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? (Actors Performers)

We recommend avoiding strong patterns or logos as these tend to distract the eye and date over time. A plainer shirt or top is best for an actors look as we normally only see your top half for headshots. For men, black, grey or earth coulurs work best. Women’s tops work well in most colours. Although it's alway good to remember that lighter and brighter colours draw the eye away from your face. So medium to darker colours are best to get noticed in your shots. For dancer's and performers we suggest bringing along a few changes of clothes and costumes especially if we are shooting dance or more full length images showing off your movement/technique and body.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD BRING? (Corporate)

If you have any layouts of websites or printed material that will be displaying your new portrait, or if you have seen images that you like. It's is a good idea to send these to us a few days prior to the shoot. This will give us time to analyse the images and plan your shoot prior to the day. If you were unhappy with your previous business portrait you might like to bring it with you or send it to us as well. Anything else that will help you relax is also great music requests, perfume, or a personal masseuse!)

DO YOU HAVE CHANGE ROOMS AT THE STUDIO?
YES WE HAVE CHANGE ROOMS WITH FULL LENGTH MIRRORS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD BRING? (Actors Performers)

If you have seen images that you like. It's is a good idea to send these to us a few days prior to the shoot. This will give us time to analyse the images and plan your shoot prior to the day. If we are shooting a promo pack for instance with 3 individual looks think about a particular feel or role you may imagine your self in for at least one of the shots.

If you have a talent or skill you would loke to highlight bring along a suitable prop. If you are a muscisian/ performer then bring your instrument of choice or perhaps a nice micrphone/stand so we can shoot a great onstage shot. Anything else that will help you get into the mood like great music requests for us to play during your session!

HOW LONG DOES A SESSION TAKE?

A Standard Session will take approx 30-mins; a Flexi Session will take approx 45mins; a Promotional Session will take approx. 1.25 hours. If professional hair and makeup has been booked please allow 1 hour per service (ie for hair, makeup and Standard shoot please allow 2.5 hours).

HOW MANY 'LOOKS' ARE INCLUDED?
(“Look” = change of background and lighting and outfit)
The Standard Service includes 1 look, the Flexi Service includes 2 looks, the Promotional Service includes 3 different looks. We allow for 2 changes of outfit if required for each look.
WHAT BACKGROUNDS / SETTINGS DO YOU HAVE?
We offer a large range of backdrops and settings including Grey, Blue, Black, Timber, White, Green-screen or Environmental as well as many custom colours. We also have a series of out of focus cityscapes that look natural and provide a contempory feel to fit in with your new website or marketing collateral. If you have require a different setting or have particular requirements please contact the studio.
WHAT POSES DO YOU COVER?
We cover any poses you require. During your shoot we will coach you as to the looks that best suit you. We will turn and angle your face and discover your best side and angles, then focus on those to achieve the best outcome for you! Our most popular portrait styles are (head and shoulders), ¾ length, full length. Smiling, gesturing, seated, leaning on desk, hand-to-cheek or chin, slight head tilts, engaged and natural. If you require any specific props please contact the studio prior to your shoot. To see if they are available.
IS RETOUCHING AVAILABLE?
Light image enhancements are automatically provided with your files. A range of professional retouching services are also available as an optional. These include evening up your eyes, removing lines or blemishes, fixing teeth. Through to double chins, jaw countouring, general body countouring and beyond. After your session

HOW QUICKLY CAN I RECEIVE THE FINISHED PRODUCT?
For Standard, Flexi and Promotional packages we will endeavor to email your shortlist within 1 day after your shoot. The final file/s will be supplied 3 -5 working days after your file/s have been selected. If you are after a super fast turn around and have booked an additional Express turn-around your files will be ready within 24hrs from your selection. The selection process will also be expedited this service.
WHAT FILE SIZES DO YOU PROVIDE?
Your finished file/s will be approximately 30 Megabytes, supplied at 300dpi in Adobe RGB, ready for printing anything from business cards to billboards. A copy of your file at low resolution @ 72dpi will also be provided. We generally supply files in .jpeg format however if you prefer tiff or higher resolution file just let us know
DO YOU ALSO PROVIDE PRINTS?
Due to technology and user changes. Prints are no longer required by our industry segment. Digital files stored on cloud devices are the preferred format in nearly all cases. If you have special requirments we are able to supply print ready file formats resized to your specifications and direct you to quality suppliers for your print needs.
HOW DO I SELECT MY IMAGES?
After your shoot, your shortlist will be emailed to you in a PDF document. From which you can select your final image/s in the comfort of your home or office or mobile location. Simply reply to the email with your choices and we will turn them around in 3-5 working days as our standard service or 24 hour if you have chosen our express service.
CAN I ORDER ADDITIONAL IMAGES?
Yes, you may choose to order further files up to 6 months from your sitting date. The cost per image is $65 incl. gst. After this period the files are archived offsite on a secure server and an archive retrieval fee will be charged to recover any additional files. ($85 plus $65 per file)
